Hours to go the undefeated champion from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines Milan Melindo will square off against a former one time WBC/WBO Latino light flyweight title holder, Juan Esquer of Sonora, Mexico. Yesterday the fighters made their weigh-in scale at the Event Centre of SM City Cebu and both of them weighed at 112 pounds. The 12-round bout will held at Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Cebu City in Cebu, Philippines.
Milan Melindo will defending his WBO Inter-Continental Flyweight Title against a fighter who have fought known world flyweight champions like Carlos Tamara (He defeated Brian Viloria by 12-round tko victory), Hernan Marquez (He defeated Edrin Dapudong tko at 3 and now he is the current WBA World Flyweight Champion) and the rising knockout artist of Panama, Ricardo Nunez. Juan Esquer has 9 defeats already but you can't judge and underestimate him because out of his 27 wins, 21 came from early round knockouts and he fought all of his best the known champions. Esquer is a solid and hard-puncher boxer.
Despite of it, Milan Melindo is a well-rounded boxer and very versatile when it goes up in the ring. He is the boxer that you do not always saw being pressured by his opponent not because of the poor performance of his opponents but because he is wise and calm fighter.
