Morales fought a very young former undefeated and fellow Mexican contender Cano who scored most of his fight by knockouts but it was a big surprise to break the record of Pablo Cano (22-1-1). Pablo Cesar Cano trained by Rudy Perez, a very determined fighter to win the title fight as a big break for him, was not luckily survived the round. He suffered a cut near on his left eye, bloodied and overpowered by the veteran Erik Morales even he had fought well and hard in the fight. Morales used his experience against the 21 year old Pablo Cesar Cano (was substituted to a big fight against Lucas Matthhysse). Erik Morales, the new WBC Light Welterweight Champion, showed us once again on what he have inside the ring as being a 35 year old boxer fighting at light welterweight division. Bad night for Pablo Cesar Cano yet he's still an amazing determined fighter and there are more big title fights to come.
