After 10 rounds of bout over Gabriel Martinez, Mike Alvarado still remained undefeated and won the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Latino Light Welterweight Tile. The bout was held in the hometown of Alvarado, the Softball Country Arena in Denver, Colorado. All three judges scoring the bout favor to Mike Alvarado vs Gabriel Martinez via unanimous decision victory: 99-90, 100-89 and 100-90.

Gabriel Martinez landed some hard shots and not backing off in the fight but Mike Alvarado landed more accurate and clean shots both in the face and to the body. In the early round, Alvarado dropping Martinez down by a quick counter left. Martinez lost the bout again after the defeat he earned over Mark Jason Melligen. Undefeated Mike Alvarado is the newly crowned IBF Latino Light Welterweight Champion and the WBC Continental Americas Light Welterweight Champion.
